Holding space
A Nature-based Healing Series

SUNDAY, MAY 24, 2026 | 12 - 3 PM
ARLINGTON GARDEN | PASADENA, CA
Holding Space is a free/donation-based monthly gathering focused on rest, renewal, and collective healing in partnership with nature, following the wildfires.
Through intentional activations—ranging from movement and meditation to creative expression—we hold space for individuals to pause and reconnect within. We prioritize people of color and culture, honoring the richness and diversity that reflect a wide array of cultures, stories, and experiences.
Each Holding Space is an invitation to be present—with yourself, with others, and with the land. It is rooted in the understanding that community care and a connection with the natural world are essential to our collective liberation.

Free and open to all
Join us for a special Holding Space gathering dedicated to Future Ancestors—a community workshop led by Community Compound, in partnership with Hands in the Soil (HITS).
What world are we building for those who come after us? This workshop invites us into personal reflection, storytelling, and collective visioning as we honor our ancestors, and explore the people we are becoming and the world we are responsible for leaving behind.
Donations are welcome to sustain future Hands in the Soil community wellness initiatives.

space
(hōl·ding spās) – verb
1. To create a sacred container for rest, healing, and transformation. A practice of deep presence, care, and nonjudgment, where individuals and communities—especially BIPOC healers, scholars, organizers, and leaders—can release, renew, and reconnect with themselves, each other, and the land.
2. To honor the unseen and unspoken. Ancestrally rooted in traditions of communal care, holding space means standing as a witness, offering support without imposing, and allowing emotions, stories, and energies to move freely within a safe and intentional environment.
