Holding
space

(hōl·ding spās) – verb

1. To create a sacred container for rest, healing, and transformation. A practice of deep presence, care, and nonjudgment, where individuals and communities—especially BIPOC healers, scholars, organizers, and leaders—can release, renew, and reconnect with themselves, each other, and the land.

2. To honor the unseen and unspoken. Ancestrally rooted in traditions of communal care, holding space means standing as a witness, offering support without imposing, and allowing emotions, stories, and energies to move freely within a safe and intentional environment.
